About the Event

On March 22, SQCC hosted 16 students and three teachers from the Arabic Flagship Program at Indiana University. The group explored SQCC’s permanent exhibition, where they learned about different aspects of Omani culture and history, including the aflaj irrigation system, Oman’s maritime heritage, the significance of frankincense in Omani hospitality, as well as forts, traditional attire, and handicrafts, and SQCC’s programs.

Students also attended a presentation by Ms. Sabra Al Hooti, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman. Her presentation offered valuable insights into Oman’s foreign policy, its bilateral relations with the United States, the ambitious goals outlined in Oman’s 2040 vision, and Oman’s economy.

Later on, the group listened to a lecture about Omani culture, people, traditions, and environment. Finally, students asked many questions on Oman’s tradition, environment and tourism, SQCC’s programs and SQCC’s mission in the US.
