About the Event

On March 19th, SQCC welcomed a cohort of twenty-five MIT Sloan Fellows MBA students during their annual visit to Washington DC.

The group explored SQCC’s permanent exhibition, where they learned about different aspects of Omani culture and history, including the aflaj irrigation system, Oman’s maritime heritage, the significance of frankincense in Omani hospitality, as well as forts, traditional attire, handicrafts, and SQCC’s programs. Students also toured SQCC’s library and were introduced to a wide array of books in both Arabic and English.

Additionally, students attended a presentation by Ms. Sabra Al Hooti, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman. Her presentation provided valuable insights into Oman’s foreign policy, its bilateral relations with the United States, the ambitious goals outlined in Oman’s 2040 vision, and Oman’s economy.
