NCUSAR Interns visit SQCC

Interns from the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations visited SQCC on 3 July. NCUSAR is an American non-profit, educational NGO dedicated to improving American understanding of the Arab countries, the Mideast, and the Islamic world. The group began their visit with a tour of the permanent exhibition space, during which they learned about Omani history and culture through exploration of the aflaj irrigation system, discussion of Oman’s maritime legacy, and the economic and cultural importance of frankincense. After the lecture, the visitors listened to a lecture on Oman’s culture. The lecture focused on Omani society, cultural norms, handicrafts, and cuisine. After the lecture, the group visited SQCC’s summer exhibition Tolerance, Understanding, Coexistence: Oman’s Message of Islam.
