SQCC Hosts Film Night – Sons of Sinbad

On Tuesday, 5 November, SQCC welcomed guests to its film night featuring, ‘Sons of Sinbad – A History of Oman’. A full room of guests snacked on popcorn while enjoying this 3-part documentary series, which  tells the tale of Oman’s seafaring legacy. The films navigate the maritime silk road and traverse the Indian Ocean. Aided by the monsoon winds, Omani dhows ferried precious cargo and goods across the 3,000 miles of the Indian Ocean, annually. The dependable frequency of this trade built lasting bridges of cultural and economic exchange that still exist today. ‘Sons of Sinbad’ plunges into the depths of this history and brings the stories and legends of the Sultanate’s past to life.
