Discover Oman Day at KID Museum 2019

SQCC co-hosted Discover Oman Day at the KID Museum in Bethesda, Maryland on Saturday 9 March. Over 300 Children from across the D.C. metro area explored Omani culture through a variety of maker-themed activities. Children learned about frankincense while painting majmars, explored Omani ecology by making sea turtle toys, and discovered aspects of traditional Omani culture by making cardboard majmars, traditional doors, and forts.

Visitors also learned how to write their names in Arabic, posed for selfies in front of a green screen, and learned about traditional Omani indigo dyeing. The daylong event introduced children and their parents to Oman and to SQCC programming.
