Wakefield High School and Washington Lee High School Arabic students visit SQCC

On Tuesday 12 March, SQCC hosted Arabic language students from Wakefield and Washington Lee.High Schools. Students toured SQCC’s permanent exhibition, where they learned about traditional Omani attire and handicrafts such as pottery, basketry, and silver artwork. On the tour students also learned about the historical importance of the aflaj irrigation system, forts, and maritime trade. After the tour, the group listened to a cultural lecture about Omani culture, people, traditions, and environment. After the tour and lecture, students visited SQCC’s library and learned more about Oman through a wide range of publications about cultural heritage in both English and Arabic.
