Virtual Visits to SQCC

SQCC virtually hosted the following visiting groups in February:

• Foreign Service Institute, US Department of State
• Arabic Department, University of Florida

Students watched a video on Oman, and virtually toured SQCC’s permanent exhibition, where they learned about traditional Omani dresses, and handicrafts such as pottery, basketry, silver artwork and woodworking, as well as the aflaj irrigation system. Students also learned about Omani forts, ships, and trade. The groups also took part in a lecture about Omani culture, people, food, traditions, and environment. The virtual visits prompted excellent discussions with the visitors in both English and Arabic.
