Ms. Rose Previte and Mr. Chris Morgan in Oman in 2018

On 7 August, Ms. Rose Previte and Mr. Chris Morgan will share stories from their journey across Oman during the summer of 2018. They traveled to Oman on a search for new recipes and menu inspirations for their D.C. restaurant, Maydān. They found not only amazing food but warm hospitality, a fascinating landscape, and a unique culture they hope more people will soon discover.
Ms. Rose Previte is the co-owner of DC’s prized Compass Rose and Maydān. Inspired by the energy of diverse cultures and a strong commitment to community, Ms. Previte’s cuisine offers diners a taste of flavors from around the world. She hails from a restaurateur family and spent over 10 years working in the service industry before embarking on her travels to over 30 countries. Ms. Previte was the host of WETA’s "Check, Please! DC" and was also featured in Washingtonian’s "40 Under 40" for her influence and expertise.
Mr. Chris Morgan is co-executive chef and co-owner of Maydān. A Virginia native, Mr. Morgan fell in love with Middle Eastern cuisine at an early age. After a culinary career across America working alongside many other esteemed chefs, Morgan returned to DC for the dynamic, vibrant community of restaurateurs. Since opening, RAMMY award-winning Compass Rose and James Beard Semifinalist Maydān have received critical acclaim from every best restaurant list in DC and several national news outlets.
