DESCRIPTION:On 31 January\, SQCC visited Bancroft Elementary School in Washington\, DC as part of the Embassy Adoption Program (EAP). EAP is a special collaboration between Washington Performing Arts and D.C. Public Schools. Students recalled what they learned about Oman in the previous two sessions. After a short PowerPoint presentation entitled Omani Frankincense Burner: A Brief History\, students watched a brief video prepared by SQCC on how to paint the majmar (frankincense burner). Over forty-four 5th graders learned about frankincense and its role in Omani history and culture. Students then enjoyed painting replicas of majmars. \nAt the end of the session\, students took their painted majmars home as souvenirs from Oman.
