Visit of students from Washington Workshops Foundation

Monday, April 30, 2018

On Monday 30 April, SQCC hosted a group of eighty 9th graders from Mexico visiting the Washington Workshops Foundation. Students toured SQCC’s permanent exhibition, where they learned about traditional Omani attire, the role of frankincense in Omani history, as well as the aflaj irrigation system. Students also learned about Omani forts, ships, and trade. Later on the group participated in a cultural lecture about Omani people, food, traditions, and environment. After the tour and lecture, students visited SQCC’s library and learned more about Oman through a wide range of publications about cultural heritage.
