SQCC Hosts STARTALK Program Participants for Talk about Omani Culture

On July 12, 2013, SQCC hosted 50 students, instructors, and professors from the STARTALK: Launching Into Arabic Program.
These high school and college students are participating in this immersion-style summer Arabic program at the US Naval Academy, which also focuses on teaching the students about the various cultures of the Middle East.

SQCC was excited to have the group visit, and the Library Director, Amal Morsy, and SQCC Program Officer, Emily Voight, gave presentations to the group in Arabic and English about Omani culture, history, and geography. The group also toured The Oman Library at the Middle East Institute and the SQCC cultural room, which features many artifacts and cultural items from Oman.
