2013 Arab and Chaldean Festival

Since its establishment in 1972, this annual festival has encouraged cross-cultural exchange through the celebration of diverse cultures within the Arab and Chaldean community.
Recently, SQCC hosted a booth at the 2013 Arab and Chaldean Festival held at Hart Plaza. Since its establishment in 1972, this annual festival has encouraged cross-cultural exchange through the celebration of diverse cultures within the Arab and Chaldean community. The festival offers musical performances,dances, and cultural exhibits that display Arab and Chaldean cultural traditions.

Visitors to SQCC's booth learned about Omani culture and SQCC programs while enjoying a display of Omani handicrafts. A raffle contest was held as well. The winner received a hand woven date palm basket, a majmar ( Omani frankincense burner), frankincense, a DVD of traditional Omani music, a copy of The Art of Barr Al Jissah written by Sarah White and a copy of My Grandmother's Stories by Khadija bint Alawi Al Dhahab, translated into English by W. Scott Chahanovic.
